10 Years ago today Sam proposed. He told me later he chose April First on purpose because if I said no he could just tell me it was an April Fools joke!! Poor guy, we already had the temple scheduled before he proposed, but he was still that nervous. It was such a fun night. Sam new me well enough that I didn't want him to get down on one knee, stuff like that makes me uncomfortable!! He surprised me with a beautiful Easter basket full of meaningful gifts and one of the gifts was my ring. I can not believe how quickly ten years has come and gone.

I remember it was about April of 1998, in Goias, Brasil... Sam and I and a few other elders were sitting on the sidelines of the Church soccer court on our P-day talking. Sam mentioned how MUCH he missed his future wife, and that he hadn't even met her yet. It was pretty funny since we were all so tired of living with other guys, but we still had about 8-9 months left (who knew he'd be engaged within a year). I had a girlfriend (now wife) at home that I had dated for 3 1/2 yrs before the mish, so I was almost certain I would be the first of our group married. But sure enough Sam beat me to the punch. I couldn't believe it when I got the invite in the mail, since I'd run into him at an ASU dance a few months earlier, in January I think, and he didn't mention he'd been dating anyone. He sure took care of business quick. Man, time sure has flow by...

What a cute engagement story. I'll have to tell you how Brian proposed sometime - it was pretty clever, too. I've said it before and I'll say it again - time really does fly.
He reminds me a little bit of Ken. I got several meaningful gifts throughout the week and then he proposed to me (the ring was the final gift of the week). He didn't get down on his knee either. I would have been soooo embarrassed. But looking back I kind of wish he would have gotten down and begged me to marry him. :)
I love it. I can't believe how much taller he is than you! You guys are so adorable in that picture, and you really look exactly the same. I love it. 10 years?! You're getting very old. I want the next post to be about botox. Ha.
funny how time kind of drags when you're young, but after 25 you can barely seem to catch a breath!
