My Grandma Turned 90....

All of my family flew into to town to celebrate my Grandma Olson's 90th birthday.  I'll be 30 next month and it worries me I could be around for another 60 years!  That's a long time.  I grew up 10 minutes from my grandma and have such great memories of her teaching me to cook, swimming at her house and enjoying her positive personality even though she is legally blind.   One of my favorite stories is that when my grandma would go to the cinema as a teenager she always took olives with her as her snack.  I don't know why, but that always makes me laugh.  So much in American history has taken place in her lifetime.  I wonder what the next 60 years holds in our country's future?  It will be fun and scary to watch.

Emery's hair is getting so long! Your parents stopped by our place for a minute and it was fun to see them. Chance's hair looks kinda grey in that 2nd pic ha! IT must be the lighting.

90 years IS a long time..

Wow! Your grandma looks amazing for her age. It must be the olives! Your kids get bigger with each post!

What a sweet pic of you and your grandma! That is a funny memory...did she ever say why olives? Emery's hair is getting long...does it curl naturally or do you do that? You look really good for almost being 30, btw :) (I can only say that cause I have a couple more years to go ;)

I am glad you were able to celebrate such a great milestone with your grandma and your family - WOW 90 years - I will hit 90 a few years before you do, but it still seems like a LONG way down the road:) Emery's hair is so cute!! Wish my girls had curl like that!

Your grandma is cute. My grandma just turned 90 in November... it is amazing how long these women live. My grandma has been through a lot in history as well as survived 3 husbands! I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be as strong as her.

I'm really hoping I don't survive three husbands!!

Kira, you are sooo beautiful! Hopefully in the next 60 years part of the world's history will be the second comming! That is what I keep hoping for. . . anytime now, I would be okay with that as I am sure you would be too! Love ya.

Yeah, I guess that comment probably didn't come out quite right... But I'd put you up to par with my Grandma and other amazingly strong women who endure their trials well. I think you're amazing!

You have such a good looking family. I'm sure you'll look just as young as your grandma when you're that age. She is a cutie. BTW, Adam and I adore Emmet and Emmery. We enjoy having them in class every Sunday! And I LOVE the picture of Emmet going potty. HAHA!! Too funny!!!
