Yesterday Emmet had his first soccer game!! We had a lot of fun sitting outside in 100 degree weather. Fortunatley we had a little shade to keep cool. Emery didn't care much about the game, she enjoyed drinking the gatorade and spilling it all over her shirt. Emmet on the other hand loved the whole "team" sport experience. He scored his first goal and to much to my surprise Emmet gave fives and thumbs up to his team mates when they scored goals. Emmet amazes me often. Who knew you could get teary eyed watching a soccer game. I just felt bad that Sam wasn't there to enjoy in the fun. He would have loved watching Emmet score a goal. Part of me hopes he did!

Kira those pictures of Emmet could not be CUTER! I loved them. You now Sam is so proud of him, especially that Emmet could run the WHOLE length of the field without an ashtma attack!HAHA! We will have to come out and watch one of his games. When is his next one? Brady, would love to watch, you might not want him there it could be a little embarrassing sitting by him! Oh ya and I am talking about big Brady! Bum would love it also!

What a little macho man! How exciting he scored a goal! I am sure Sam is proud of him...and I am sure all those early morning kick arounds in the 'upscale projects' (aka morningside) helped a lot :) Have fun being a 'soccer' mom!

I'm glad to see Emmet having fun at his soccer game. Matthew also had his first game this week and refused to get on the field. He just kept crying and screaming while holding tight to my leggs!!! I guess the European blood doesn't make him a pro.
I am sure Sam is proud of his little soccer player!

Kira - loved that the outfit drowned Emmet - his shorts would have fit right in at Morningside. It seemed to be the style there! Also love Emery's pink ball. Like Selena, I got a glimpse of Sam and Emmet always outside my window kicking the ball around. I bet Sam is proud. He loved soccer more than anyone I know. ~Kate
Those are great pix. My favorite is the one with him chilling with his foot on the ball like he has been doing it for years.
Leland has become really interested in soccer too. We took her to watch the W&L Women's team play on Saturday and she really loved it. I thought watching a game in 89 degrees was hot, I can't imagine playing in 100.
BTW, I think we should consider blocking gbabysmith from our blogs until she creates one herself. :-P A blog is not harder than MSN pictures.
